Of course, I agree with you. The notes were not clear and made buyers to believe it was either a white label or a pre-release test press copy which could’ve even had a different run-out revealing a previous cut like my white label of City of Night does. I myself wouldn’t imagine a modern personal reissue, either. Maybe the price is justified, 50 bucks for the production costs, 50 for Daniele, 50 for Gigi, and the last 50 euros for the costs of shipping and handling. 🤪 Btw. no copies for sale now. Sold out?

Will you keep your copy anyway or will you return it since you’ve been offered this option? Another quality issue is that despite being a possible mp3 sourced recording, of course it’s practically unprovable, it might’ve been just low-passed, the sound could’ve been also post-processed, like auto declicked, denoised which potentially even further decrease audio quality if not used wisely. We can’t tell from the YouTube video, it sounds pretty bad there, but it is just 480p, so the audio track bitrate must be quite low too. Those high bitrate mp3 files that used to be offered on his website could give us some idea about the sound. If the original audio tracks are not available anymore, he could’ve tried to re-record these tracks, that wouldn’t be the same as the original but certainly a nice approach in my opinion, and of course being clearly stated to be a reissue. Daft is right that it’s against the Discogs policies to sell something under a different entry, e.g. you cannot sell a cassette under a CD or vinyl release page with a note like “WARNING: This is a tape, NOT a CD/LP”. Actually such listings may be reported, but I understand not everyone is keen on submitting a release they just want to sell and I’m personally fine with that if sellers are honest and clear about that in the notes, some sellers even warn you after you place an order, so they can cancel it if you overlook their notes and don’t want it. There is a reasonable argument for heavy weight vinyl, 180 g or even 240 g, that is they are less prone to warping, but if they do, they are nearly impossible to straighten, though I personally don’t put much faith in these techniques. It certainly doesn’t sound any better, though some audiophiles belive it.

There is also a white label of “Tin Drums” being offered, so I’ve just wondered for a while if it couldn’t be the same, both of them have been submitted by pulsebox-music. However, that one is not listed as new and it’s cheaper. Also if you compare your and his images, your one has a completely flat label, likely stickered, while the originally submitted pictures have those two circles, one small closer to the centre hole and a bigger one closer to the outer edge, those submitted photos look like a pressed record.

I’m curious how you’ve got to know it’d been made by Berliner Vinyl Werk since the record has no matrix. 🤔 I also quite don’t get that price, I understand it costs something to make each copy that has to recorded in real time and to get something for the music itself. Maybe he doesn’t want the originals to lose their value, otherwise I don’t know. 🤨

[09.02.2024] Gin Lemon E.P. (VINYL) (ZYX Reissue)

I guess it will be based on the inside part of the CD booklet. Anyway, let’s hope ZYX has been taking their time for a huge tracklist revision which we all ask for. Where the heck are the tracks like Another Way, La Passion, L’Amour toujours, Bla Bla Bla? We crave for another greatest hits like release. 😝 -

I think that the release has been postponed. I ordered a few items directly from ZYX and they sent to me everything except for Gin Lemon E.P., they sent me an e-mail saying “We will send you a partial shipment via DHL. Missing items will be sent to you automatically as soon as they are published.” I would expect them to say they would send them as soon as they were back in stock if it were just currently unavailable, which happened to me in December when I placed an order and took “The Essential Gigi D’Agostino” compilation just out of curiosity which of the two versions they’re selling nowadays, in that case they removed the title from my order saying it would be back in stock in January. -

A Discogs user mentioned the same melody in these two tracks in his review. Only the Emotional remix from 1994 contains the melody, the Original mix which came out a year earlier does not. NIP Collective “Live On Mars” (Emotional Remix) Gigi D'Agostino “Noise Maker Theme” -
Blasfemia “Morning Time” (Trendy Me Up Mix) appears on the UK compilation “The Real Deal 2” and it is not a vinyl recording. I’d say that “Elisir” (Original Mix) is quite easy to obtain as it was released on the US single as well as on the Brazilian compilation and these CD’s are not hard to find. The full length “L'Amour Toujours” (L'Amour Vision) was included on the Scandinavian single and on the compilation “DJ Selection 81”, you may find some others, and there are plenty of them for sale for reasonable prices. 😉

In the case of La Passion the vocalist is Adam Austin as intro111 mentioned in the first post he is credited on the UK singles of Bla Bla Bla and La Passion and from what I hear the voice sounds the same as the one in The Way.

Eight tracks on the side shown in the picture. How do you know that one of them is not the extended mix of Ikeya Seki? I think you should buy it and find out, in the worst-case scenario there will be silent grooves and at best some mp3’s pressed. 😄

Lento Violento - Tecnotonica

It would make sense if “Trasmission” was older than “Again” (Gigi tanz mix), like slower and simpler “Saltarén” was released before “Wellfare” (I wanna tanz). -

Qualitativ "minderwertige" CD's / Vinyl ?
zabuyaque antwortete auf hlennarz's Thema in All About Gigi
I’ve just noticed that the track Sweetly was removed from the majority of Amazon platforms (checked DE, ES, FR, IT, US sites), only the remaining two tracks (Happily and This Song Tears Easily) may be found when searching for it there. However, the whole single is still available on the UK site. Could it be that some buyers complained about the quality and that forced them to withdraw the track from sale? Who knows. -
Qualitativ "minderwertige" CD's / Vinyl ?

Well, Giallone Remix is one of those with the least gain applied, on the other hand Panic Mouse and Creative Nature vol. 1 are more than twice as loud, but you’re right on average the entire CD is only two thirds up in gain. 1. NOISE MAKER THEME [+2.12 dB ~ 128 %] 2. THE MIND'S JOURNEY [+4.07 dB ~ 160 %] 3. PANIC MOUSE [+7.49 dB ~ 237 %] 4. GIALLONE REMIX [+3.87 dB ~ 156 %] 5. MERAVILLIA [+7.09 dB ~ 226 %] 6. CREATIVE NATURE VOL.1 [+3.04 dB ~ 142 %] 7. PANIC MOUSE (Stress Mix) [+8.16 dB ~ 256 %] 8. CREATIVE NATURE VOL. 1 (Adam & Eve) [+6.81 dB ~ 219 %] 9. THE MIND'S JOURNEY (Brain Mix) [+4.03 dB ~ 159 %] – AVERAGE VOLUME INCREASE – [+4.45 dB ~ 167 %] You can notice it especially in the lower volume parts of the songs, there is less noise and crackles (though not completely removed), but generally the hi-hat sounds suffer from that also in loud parts. Also for example in Giallone Remix, they removed the low frequency noise in the bell intro (0:00 to 0:22) but didn’t do the same in another similar sounding part (1:33 to 1:38). -
Qualitativ "minderwertige" CD's / Vinyl ?
zabuyaque antwortete auf hlennarz's Thema in All About Gigi
I haven’t known till now that the reissue of A Journey into Space from 2014 was remastered, some pop/click and noise reductions had been applied on the four tracks coming from Creative Nature vol. 2, which actually make the songs sound worse in direct comparison. However, the channels are now more balanced, the 1996 release had left channel noticeably louder on these vinyl recordings. (That I find kind of interesting, as all these tracks except for Gigi’s version of Panic Mouse have the left and right channels swapped, while on The Greatest Hits the tracks Panic Mouse and Meravillia with swapped L/R channels play louder on the right channel and Giallone Remix on the left one as would be expected provided the same recording setup had been used for this single.) And last but not least the entire CD is approximately twice as loud. I’m not sure, but I guess the same may apply for the first album Gigi D'Agostino also reissued in 2014. -
Here are some corrections and additional information. Laboratorio 2: S 00003528 (Zabuyaque) Distributed By Global Net Laboratorio 3: S 00000066 (Zabuyaque) - wrong tracklist Btw, does anybody know if all the copies with the wrong tracklist had the “dosaggio corretto” sticker over the sealed case? The Greatest Hits (Reissue): G8 0004221876 (Zabuyaque) [Super Jewel Box] Until now I haven’t known there is also a jewel case version. Underconstruction 2 - Silence Remix (NM 1041702): S 00023618 (Zabuyaque) It’s the Noisemaker Benelux version, not the Italian one. Cappella - Hyper Mixes: S 00002667 (Zabuyaque) [blau] Angels' Symphony: S 00007895 (Zabuyaque) [correct tracklist – barcode 8 019256 001152] There are two versions of the Italian BXR release. Vanilla Ice – Ice Ice Baby 2001 (EastWest Records GmbH, Germany): S 00039413 (Zabuyaque) It’s the EastWest pressing, not the Noise Maker. Luca Noise - Moonlight Shadow: S 00000514 (Zabuyaque) [light grey] S 00001928 (Zabuyaque) [white label] And also a new addition Gin Lemon EP (normal - black vinyl): S 00005136 (Zabuyaque) My previous copy was one disc only (with a promotional sheet and a photo inserted), this one contains all the three records, though a promo sticker is applied on the label of the 3rd disc, maybe the black records were intended as a promotional stuff but why they have higher serial numbers on the SIAE sticker? It makes sense that a promo release precedes retail ones.

When I look at the picture on Amazon, I would say the bracket is there. However, it’s still not a photo of the real release which may differ in the end. (We don’t even know if the physical release doesn’t get cancelled.) Have you already pre-ordered your copy? (In case it ends up like Hollywood.) 😄 -
It’s just missing 52 seconds to fit the Creative Nature. 😄 But seriously, it’s a really good track. 🙂 However, since the title says 1991-2021, it seems the oldest track is “Luci ed ombre” then, as “Animo lunatico” is from ‘93, though it doesn’t sound that old to me, the other tracks contain vocals and sound like modern lento stuff.

You can still paint one of your walls in black to get an optimal contrast. -
A friend of mine who bought it from Amazon received it in a proper packaging, got it from the second batch after it had been sold out for a while (also his number was quite high like your second one). I guess people complained when they received their first copies, some might have even returned it, I wouldn't wonder, so they changed the packaging. I somehow got used to bent covers, writings on center labels and artwork after years, though I still can't stand it on CD's, these have to be perfect.
