(2CD) Pre sale (04.10.2024) | ZYX 83151-2 | 0194111033344 The tracklist for the vol. 2 does list all 15 tracks, including the both versions of Movimento quotidiano. That may be a difference from the double CD release, also a quarter a year delay from the two other versions can mean they may have it pressed it elsewhere.

This one actually fits 74 minute length, so it’s a good cadidate, even a double LP would be nice. However, I don’t feel ZYX is much interested in reissuing it, as this isn’t Gigi’s album but Luca Noise’s one. As far as I know they never released his singles and EP’s in 2000’s, though they did release CD’s and vinyl with Gigi’s aliases and projects. Although Gigi was engaged in all the songs but one on Potenza adeguata.

I had a look on the internet regarding the maximum length of CD's if I find something interesting what pressing plants recommend or whatever. I found an older topic on Gearspace, there you can read that Sony DADC or Cinram did not recommend going over 79:10 or 78:30 respectively, Bob Katz wrote that pressing plants often made customers sign a waiver if the CD exceeds like 78 minutes, so it was a customer's responsibility if the wouldn't play properly, someone else also said good luck finding a plant that make a CD longer than 81 minutes, though there are such CD's, on Discogs there's a box of CD's with Mozart's works and multiple discs exceed 86 minutes. So ZYX may play it safe in the end, they may not want to take a risk a CD stops to play before the actual end of the last song. And after reading negative reviews about their vinyl releases, they want to make at least their CD's well. 😉

Since he calls it a “collection” it may even be the complete discography including remixes in mp3. The reasonable bitrate could be around 96 kbps to fit it all on a single disc, that would give space to roughly 250 four minute songs.

I wonder why it is an Apple exclusive release. Anyway, somebody should write to ZYX that we want it on vinyl with the tracklist mentioned above and preferably with the same artwork which will give the sufficient resolution of 80 dpi.

It looks like it disappeared everywhere except for Apple Music where on the other hand Gigi D'Agostino Collection Vol. 2 is missing. Edit: The Vol. 2 on Apple Music is not visible in their list of albums, but it can be found using Google search engine. Edit #2: I’ve just realized they also have a section with compilations and there it is. 😉

I hadn’t realized what date it is until you’ve mentioned it, it looks like it is a joke. The 1st April 2025 is on Tuesday and not Friday as it’s a common day for new releases, the catalogue number looks weird as well, there is only a placeholder instead of a real bar code and the picture shows only one diarrhoea coloured record, the second one which would likely be of different colour is missing. 😁

Since they are re-issuing Some Experiments on CD, it’d be reasonable to come with LP, too. The whole compilation is 159 minutes long, a pack of eight records is unthinkable, the solution must be to squeeze 40 minutes per side on 4 LP’s, either recording it very silent (such LP’s do exist, the longest duration of a side at 33⅓ RPM is around an hour for music) or record it at 16⅔ RPM which is also doable.

By the way, if you have a contact there, you may try to send a message through him if it gets to responsible people above, so they could speed up the three CNV2 tracks to 135.34% for this reissue in the end. 🙂

What did I say? 🙂 And I still believe the first Gigi D'Agostino album may appear on vinyl as well. (Let’s hope they release it à la style of their L’amour toujours single, which means no worries and LP sides may end with a transition to the next song and the other sides begin with the end of a previous track. Keeping my fingers crossed for that.) Is a diarrhoea color an official marketing term? 😁

Honestly, I even expected it to be a three or four page gatefold, thus they could’ve made it an ordinary thick sleeve with four inners inside. 👎 Are those silver letters actually silver as on the original CD’s or just printed in the shades of grey with an embossed like look?

By the way, the vinyl reissue of Experiments vol 1 has recently sold out on his Bandcamp page.

It’s Trip into Interzone, the B2 mix, unfortunately not in full length, it’s approximately about a minute shorter.

That Sygma Terzinenza Mix besides being identified as BLA BLA BLA ( EASY DANCE RADIO MIX ) is also shown as BLA BLA BLA ( GIGI DAG & LUCA NOISE DANCE MIX ) under that YouTube video, likely two similar mixes.

I didn’t even know that it’s possible to block a PayPal address. Or has he set it in his shop directly? 🤔 If so, it could be simply overcome by using a different e-mail address, as you can attach more than one e-mail to your PayPal account, though he’d still recognize you by your name and the address. 😁

The other picture however looks like the title is stickered and the side description is still hand written, so it still looks like a white label.

But there is still some degree of transparency judging from your pictures, they are not opaque. There are coloured records that you cannot see through at all.

What makes mp3 sound bad is lower in the audible spectre, it’s not that hi-pass filter unless it is very low, below 16 kHz. So no problem in my opinion, though usually audio is high-passed at 18 kHz or higher. But honestly are you able able to hear 17 kHz or higher frequencies? A year ago I was able to hear a 17 kHz pure tone only with one of my ears, today I struggle to hear that not pushing the volume too high. 😉

I also considered playing the record wet when digitizing it, I already tried it on some records in the past but only with cheap conical styli.

It’s not noisy if it’s been denoised in the remastering process. 😁 Seriously, in my opinion it sounds even worse, it’s heavily post-processed, declicked and denoised, there are lots of artifacts also low frequecies are reduced, it doesn’t sound good at all. Your vinyl sounds likely the same if there is not much added surface noise of the disc itself. My old denoised mp3’s with pretty aggressive setting sound much better, really. The recording may be from 2017, but the “remastering” could’ve been applied recently, I don’t know what the tracks on his old website sounded like, whether they were pure transfer or somehow post-processed, as well. Is your copy visibly scratched or was it dj-(ab)used? If it’s just clicky with a stronger surface noise, I think that it’s normal here. I’ve come across three copies myself and had two other recordings from other people and none sounded really good. I think that this pressing was not that great when it came out.

Just come across a YouTube video that shows another possible variant of this record, meaning the original one. It has white text as opposed to the more common blue text on the black background, the first letters look to be red coloured by hand which leads me to think it’s not been just discoloured in an app.
